Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about converting a PDF to a tall scrollable image.

What is a PDF long image?

A PDF long image (also called a tall image or vertical image) is a single image with all your PDF pages stacked from top to bottom. It's a convenient way to share an entire document as one image on Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, or Facebook — no PDF reader required.

We recommend PDFs under 35 pages. The more pages, the larger the output image and the longer the conversion takes. If your PDF exceeds the browser's limit, quality will be reduced automatically or you'll be prompted to split it first. For social sharing, 'Good Quality' is the best balance of speed and file size.

Yes. All processing happens entirely in your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded to any server, so your data stays completely private.

The output is a JPG image, which strikes a great balance between quality and file size — ideal for uploading to social media platforms or sharing via email and messaging apps.

Password-protected PDFs cannot be converted directly. Please remove the password first using our Unlock PDF tool, then convert to a long image.

Each page is rendered individually in your browser, then combined into one large canvas. The more pages and the higher the quality setting, the more memory and time is needed. Switching from 'Best Quality' to 'Good Quality' is significantly faster for multi-page PDFs.
